Teams

A team lets you share access to projects, share environment variables (secrets) across them, and share build workers. Open Teams at app.venelx.com/teams.

Create a team and invite people

  1. Click Create a team and name it. You become its Owner.
  2. Select the team, open Members and use Invite: enter an email and a role.
  3. The person must already have a Venelx account with that email. They get an email and an in-app notification with an invite link (valid for 7 days). Accepting it adds them to the team.

Roles

RoleWhat they can do
OwnerFull control: manages members, projects and secrets, and can delete the team.
AdminCan manage members, link projects and edit team secrets.
DeveloperCan run builds and read logs on linked projects.
ViewerRead-only: can view builds and download artifacts on linked projects.

You can invite people as Developer, Admin or Viewer. Owners and admins can remove members; the owner can't be removed.

On the Projects tab, link your projects to the team. Members then access those projects with their team role.

Team secrets

On the Secrets tab (owners and admins only) add shared key/value pairs, for example SENTRY_AUTH_TOKEN. They are injected as environment variables into builds for every project linked to the team. Values are stored encrypted and only shown masked afterwards.

Some credentials are also looked up in team secrets, such as a GitHub token (see GitHub connection).

Team worker pools

If you run your own build workers, you can share a machine with a team:

  1. Open Account → Self-hosted workers (app.venelx.com/account/workers), open the worker's options and set its Team (you must be an owner or admin of the team). Choose Personal (no team) to make it private again.
  2. In a project, open Settings → General and set Worker pool to the team so the project's builds run only on that team's workers. The default uses your own workers and any team pools that include the project.

Deleting a team

Only the owner can delete a team, from the team's Overview tab.
